The patriarch of our firm, Robert M. “Bob” Davis, was sworn into practice on September 18, 1950. Joined by his wife and paralegal, Mary Anne Davis, the Davis Law Firm has been a prominent fixture of the local legal landscape for over sixty-five years. Bob Davis, who also served as a circuit court judge, solicitor, district court judge, and state senator, was honored on October 19, 2000, by the North Carolina State Bar with a Lifetime Service Award for fifty years of practice and service to the community.
Bob's son, James A. Davis, joined the firm in 1991, and took the helm of the firm in 2005 when his father passed away. Bob's daughter, Jennifer Davis Hammond, originally worked for the firm as a paralegal in the early 1990s before becoming an attorney. Bob's grandson, James A. Davis II, is the third generation of Davis family members to serve the legal needs of the Salisbury community and the surrounding area, including Rowan, Iredell, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, and Davidson counties. The attorneys and staff of Davis & Davis remain committed to meeting the needs of their clients through hard work, personal attention, and their extensive experience in the local state and federal courts.
